CustOMER FAQ

What is the NEW production process for REMO merchandise bearing designs?

Most items of REMO merchandise bearing designs (including: T Shirts, Canvas Totes, Tea Towels and Enamel Mugs) are printed to order by our new production partner in Victoria using state of the art Direct-to-Garment (“DTG”) or sublimation printing processes. DTG works similar to a home inkjet printer. The design is set up on a computer and the software sends the design to the DTG printer, where water-based white and CYMK (Cyan, Yellow, Magenta and Black) inks are printed directly onto the garment. It is labour intensive but the result is worth it, with a look and feel that is hard to distinguish from silk-screened designs, avoiding the plasticky feel of some transfers. We have been very happy with the results.

The T Shirts used to be REMO branded. Why has that changed?

In 2022 we decided to source our cotton base apparel from a company called AS Colour. AS Colour was founded in 2005 and operates in New Zealand, Australia, and California. It is headquartered in Auckland. It boasts a global reputation for quality cotton basics sourced and made ethically to rigorous standards. Read more about those standards HERE. This big pivot has enabled us to radically expand both the range of garments and the colours upon which our designs can be ordered e.g. whereas before one could order (say) our Eternity design on either a white or black short sleeve t shirt, it can now be ordered in dozens of colours for men, women, kids and babies … and also on a canvas tote and as a long sleeve T Shirt for the cooler months. It’s a REMOLUTION! AS Colour is also a well known brand in the Australian market, with quality and sizing characteristics that people know and trust.

Where is the merchandise shipped from?

Your REMO merchandise is now delivered from two places: our Bondi HQ and  directly from the factory of our production partner in Victoria for anything bearing a design that has been printed to order. The latter would include all of our T Shirts, Canvas Totes, Tea Towels and Enamel Mugs. This sustainable production process means that products are only printed once you've placed your order ... and this can take some time, although the wait is worthwhile.

How long will my order take to arrive?

This new process that we use for merchandise bearing designs takes longer that it used to when we were printing in house, but, from a quality perspective, the wait is worthwhile. For Regular Shipping orders, it takes roughly 7 to 15 business days to custom print and deliver your order using Australia Post. Some places outside metropolitan areas may take a bit longer. Need them a bit faster? Select the Express delivery option and we will use that method of shipping, although this will not speed the production process itself.

How should I wash printed garments?

Digitally printed shirts can be expected to wear over time, due to the nature of the soft and natural water-based inks. There are ways to prolong the life of your custom print. We suggest the following care instructions: machine wash cold (or hand wash) gentle cycle only with mild detergents; do not bleach; no fabric softener; do not dry clean; hang dry or tumble dry on very low settings.

What about Import duties and taxes for deliveries outside Australia?

It varies from country to country. You (or the order recipient, if it's a gift) may be subject to import duties and/or taxes levied once the package reaches the destination country. However, it's not that common for smallish shipments of a personal nature. Please let us know if your order does get caught so that we can advise future CustOMERs accordingly. As we learn, we'll pass that knowledge on to you all back here.

What about returns or exchanges?

At REMO CustOMER Delight is Guaranteed.

CustOMERs can return or exchange anything and for any reason. Please just send the items back to us at the Bondi PO Box in the original packaging with clear exchange or return instructions.

Having said this,  please note that all REMO T Shirts are now made to order by a third party partner, and are therefore not of any use to us if returned or exchanged. There is a size table on every T Shirt product page that sets out relatively exact measurements for both both width and length of the various sizes. So, if you have a T Shirt you like and a ruler near by, you should be able to work out your size. Also, AS Colour is a relatively well known brand, especially here in the Australian market, so many of you would already know your size for that brand. Please choose carefully.
