Enjoyed this piece in last Saturday's Sydney Morning Herald featuring the repatriation of manufacturing to Australia by forward thinking and sustainable Australian brands. We're happy to share with you the fact that the featured textile mill ABMT is the REMO maker.

The repatriation of our manufacturing to Australia has been a long term ambition for us, and we started working in earnest on the project last year. It has been tremendously satisfying to work with ABMT and a range of other Australian partners.

See what COVID has made us do. We plead lock down.

It started as a one off, a favour for a friend in celebration of her birthday ... yet another personal milestone derailed by COVID-19. Then she started wearing it, and then we started getting requests. We decided that there wasn't a big enough market for the FULLY VAXED original (bad taste reference to Australia's stuttering vaccination rollout) ... so we shortened it to VAXED, leaving it to the wearer to provide further details.

The repatriation of our manufacturing to Australia has been a long term ambition for us, and we started working in earnest on the project last year. It has been tremendously satisfying to work with a range of partners based in Melbourne, and we look forward to many happy years working together, and more exciting developments as we slowly expand the REMO apparel range.

We have also taken the opportunity to unify the styles for men and women into a singular unisex style … just as it was in the early REMO days.

This REMO design story takes us to the Lower East Side of New York:

The 10th Street Baths (aka the Russian & Turkish Baths) is still the best place to get hot and wet in New York. This design made its debut as a REMO T Shirt way back in 1989 with blessing from owners Boris and David. It is a pretty faithful replica of their original tin sign.
