R#15 | Funded

Greetings from New York.

Our Kickstarter campaign for REMORANDOM is still open ... but is now virtually FUNDED. At the time of writing we are over 98% the way to our goal, with another 5 days to run in the campaign. Momentum is building once again, and we expect quite a few more people to sign up as Foundation Subscribers over the coming days.

Maybe you? Hop on the bus before it leaves the station. Fun time guaranteed.

Browse the campaign and watch the short video HERE.

JUST DO THE THING

I'm in New York recovering from last week's TED conference, tweaking our new website (do you like it?) and taking the opportunity to reconnect with friends and collaborators. I spent a morning with Kim Hastreiter the co-founding editor/publisher of PAPER Magazine the other day (weird timing as only today the new owners pulled the plug on the digital remnants of that mast head). I shared my REMORANDOM idea with Kim and she recited a great quote from Glennon Doyle, the author of Untamed; one that she felt was relevant to the challenge of creating anything truly NEW:

“Don't explain the thing. Just do the thing, and then they'll be able to see the thing ... making explaining anything unnecessary."

If you're on Facebook, you can watch her recite the quote HERE.

Personally, I'm happy to explain the thing ... but my default is always to do the thing.

URINAL FLIES

In case you were wondering about the image above ...

Once the Kickstarter campaign is over, the real work begins ... along with the FUN job of collecting some new ideas for the launch issue in October. All of you are challenged to send through your ideas HERE. Some of you will be better at this than others e.g. today I bumped into designer Scott Stowell on Hudson Street and challenged him to give me an idea. Without taking a breath he said "Urinal Flies," and then proceeded to tell me what they were. Needless to say, it's a PERFECT idea for REMORANDOM. Thanks Scott ... and I know that you will be feeding us more.

Cheers,
