Melbourne Trip

We recently spent a whirlwind 30 hours in Melbourne. During that time we:

Spent time touring the facilities of the new REMO designs production partner in the outer burbs, getting to watch a lot of big and very expensive machines in full flight direct-to-garment printing and absolutely killing it in terms of quality and production efficiency. We also got a chance to look at what they can do with embroidery and sublimation printing onto enamel mugs ... and both of those processes look very promising for our designs portfolio.

Met with Ralph Bonadio at his knitting factory to witness first hand how our Stripey Thing fabric is loving created from reels of organic yarn on machines that Ralph has owned and operated for over 50 years. It was such a buzz to know how much passion goes into the local production of this famous REMO product.

We also met with Dushyant and Vinita the founders of Bhumi, the company that we partner with on the production of our Colour Coded Sheet Sets. Bhumi makes sustainable textile products from premium quality 100% GOTS certified organic cotton, produced ethically in India using Fairtrade practices, and are free from chlorine bleach, toxic heavy metals, formaldehyde and aromatic solvents. We love working with Bhumi ... and we both have high hopes for those sheets. HERE is an information sheet that you can download, and HERE they are orderable online.

Finally, and on a more personal front, we had a drink with arts supremo Katrina Sedgewick, who we first met back in the early 90s when she was folding T Shirts at the REMO General Store in Darlinghurst. See her at 11:14 here ! The REMO family alumni network is both deep and wide :)
